Arsenal F.C have now won each of their first four Premier League games, the third time in their entire history to do so. The first being in the magnificent 2003/2004 season (This is where we won the Golden Premier League Title) when they went on that amazing unbeaten streak which flowed over to the second time which was in the 2004/2005 season when Manchester United broke that streak, finishing as runners-up during that season.
The first half was a slow and boring part of the game with both teams failing to score, but in the secondf half, this is when the magic started happening, with Fulham's striker, Mitrovic, scoring after capitalizing on Gabriel's (The defender) error in the 56th minute.
Arsenal quickly pushed for the equalizer and it was none other than our captain, Martin Odegaard who scored that all-important goal in the 64th-minute after a sublime pass from Bukayo Saka to bring us to level terms with Fulham. It was now a battle of wits as to who would push forward for the win and alas! Who to score the winning goal apart from none other than Gabriel Magalhaes whose left-footed shot from very close range left Leno bewildered as the ball struck the net into the bottom left corner. He was assisted by fellow defender, William Saliba, following a corner.
This result now puts us in the top spot with 12 Points, 2 Points above the current Premier League Champions, Manchester City, who had earlier on in the day beaten Crystal Palace by 4 Goals to 2 with new signing, Erling Haaland bagging in a first hat-trick for himself in the City Blue Shirt.
Even though this game was by far our best show of perseverance, we need to be wary of the upcoming fixtures as Thursday Nights are just around the corner. It is also important to note that Olexsandre Zinchenko and Thomas Partey who are regular starters, did not play any part in the match after both had injury scares during one of the training sessions. I truly hope that these two coome back as soon as possible as we will definitely need them when we start playing two or even three matches per week.
Either way, a win is still a win and the boyz must take pride in being the only team so far in the league to not be beaten by their opponents. I mean, this is how the 2003/2004 season started, right?
We next face off against Aston Villa on the last day of this month (Wednesday) at home before heading to the Theatre of Dreams for a match that will truly be a thriller in all aspects considering United are slowly coming to form after Ten Hag dropped Harry Maguire for Lisandro Martinez who is making one of the best CB duo-partnership with Raphael Varane. Come on though, you and I both know that Gabriel x Saliba is better than Martinez x Varane. Mark the date for this clash;Sunday 4th September 2022.
COME ON YOU GUNNERS! Great things are coming under the process!
