This past Friday, A.W.F.C began the new 22/23 Barclays Women Super League with a thrashing and exciting 4-nil win over Brighton and Hove Albion Women. Goals from the captain, Kim Little, Blackstenius and a brace from Beth Mead were enough to get the job done, temporarily placing the ladies on the top of the table.
Having just come as second-best last season, with Chelsea Women emerging as the 21/22 Barclays W.S.L Champions on the final day of the season, our ladies are now tasked with making amends and ensuring that we clinch the title this season. As such, every win matters and if the ladies are capable of pulling a Manchester City (Scoring many goals in a single match), then the better as this would enable them gain a huge goal difference to their rivals.
We go again this Tuesday as the ladies face off against Ajax Ladies in their opening match of the 22/23 U.E.F.A Women's Champions League. COYG!
