Arsenal Women managed to overcome a 1-nil first leg deficit against Swedish Women's team Hacken to proceed to the next stage of the 24/25 UWCL Season.
Playing under the lights at Meadow Park, our beautiful ladies in red and white were up to the challenge to ensure we didn't face the disappointment of getting knocked out in the early stages of the campaign like last season.
It was a 4-Goal thriller in favour of the Gunners with newcomer Mariona Caldentey getting her first goal for the Gunners having joined us last summer from FC Barcelona Femeni.
Lia Walti scored the opener which brought us level on aggregate before Caldentey scoring a few minutes before half-time.
In-form striker Bethany Mead, who scored the equalizer in our last game vs Manchester City Women at The Emirates, added our third just after the beginning of the second half.
Midfielder Frida Maanum, who also scored in the Arsenal-City game, came in from the bench and added the nail to Hacken's coffin in an almost instant fashion scoring just after she entered the pitch.
This victory marked our entry into the group stages of this prestigious competition after bitterly exiting it in the early stages last season under the hands of Paris FC.
The group stage draw will take place on Friday 27th September 1300 C.E.T.
Which teams would you like to see us draw in our group?
